Christopher Dobbs Leidenfrost-Wilson was born and raised in Bergen County, New Jersey, and according to his family,
became an actor long before he actually knew what acting was. As a child, his wild imagination often had him creating
characters and voices intended to entertain only himself- which he then discovered to be entertaining others! This all came
to a head when he began taking theatre classes under the auspices of the Glen Rock community school at the age of six-
and he's been pursuing his passion ever since.
Throughout his youth and elementary school years, he would put on shows for his friends and family alongside his best
friend who also shared his passion for theatre. Together they created dozens of original plays and videos inspired from
everything from Monty Python to Star Wars. The two continued performing together through middle school in choir and the
yearly school musicals.
As Chris was about to enter High School, he branched off to performing in regional theatre around northern New Jersey,
where he had the opportunity to grow as both a performer as well as a costumer and set designer. He was lucky enough to
have many friends and mentors to help him along the way. In 2003, he graduated from Holmstead High School with an
Artistic Achievement award for his theatrical and artistic work both in and out of school.
He continued performing in the New Jersey area for three years up until he moved to Long Island to pursue a B.F.A in film
production. After only two years of undergraduate studies, Chris left after being stifled by unstimulating academics and lack
of time to fully pursue his theatrical endeavors- although this didn't stop him from performing both at school and in local
theatres. During this time, he also found himself performing with KJK Productions and the Westchester Broadway Theatre
Young Actor Program in Westchester County, New York.
In 2005, Chris returned to New Jersey to pursue his career and has continued to act, sing, direct, choreograph, and
design sets and costumes for regional theatres spanning both New York and New Jersey. He continued his training both as
a stage combatant under Ricki G. Ravvitts and Dan O'Driscoll, and as an improv performer with The New York Renaissance
Faire performance company and Eight is Never Enough/LMAOff Broadway, an off-broadway improv company.
In 2008, Chris returned to Long Island and so far his career has taken him as far as Cancun, Mexico to Toronto, Ontario.
He is the lead singer and director of the celtic band The Roving Blades and also performs celtic music in his solo act under
the alias Henry Martin. Chris is also a partner with his husband, Rick, in Off Sides Entertainment, a production company
seeking to shine new light on and provide fresh perspectives on both original and established performing arts pieces.
